Currently....It's May!

It is already May!  Where did this school year go?  I haven't linked up with Farley very much this year...it's been that kind of year, but I am excited to link up today.

This year has been a struggle for me.  Second grade seems different than when I taught it just six years ago....or maybe I am different.  Trying to find my feet and my voice in second has been a challenge and I think I am excited to continue my growth in second next year.  My students though....FABULOUS!!  They are so fun, so excited to learn, eager to try new things, forgiving when I make mistakes.

This summer I am looking forward to going back to Las Vegas and the conferences there.  It was so motivational last year.  I cannot wait!

I hope I get to go home to PA and spend some time with my mom, and I hope I get to run Grandma Camp for as many of my grandkids I can get to come spend a week with me.  I've done that once before and it was fun!  Now that most of my grandkids have moved far away, it will be trickier getting them here...but I am hoping.

My dream is to have wood floors in my upstairs...my husband has been promising, but something always gets in the way.  Maybe this is the summer.  My other dream is to go to Hawaii...but I know that is not happening.

  1. I too find myself trying to choose from all the cool activities I've put off because of testing! My 8th graders think school is over after testing (NOT) so I make it as hands-on and fun as possible! This is my favorite time of the year (not just because it's almost over)!

Your idea of Grandma Camp is awesome! I sure hope you can get everybody together!

    1. Grandma Camp started out from my love of camping and the outdoors. I wanted to do a mom camp when my kids were little....but never got it very organized, so now I am practicing on the grandkids. I keep thinking I should write a book (it might keep me more organized).

  2. I would love to go to Hawaii as well. We just put in new floors upstairs and wow what a difference it has made. We had kept putting them off, but I am so glad we finally took the plunge and just did it.

    1. I am going to try really hard to make that dream a reality, Amanda. Your words of encouragement have made me want to redouble my efforts!

    1. The SDE conferences last year (I attended two during the week) were beyond awesome! I want to go back and be inspired all over again.
